Assam govt. to appoint 20,000 teachers in next three months

Guwahati, June 20 (IBNS): Assam government will appoint 20,000 teachers in next three months.

Assam education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said the state government has decided to appoint 20,000 teachers in the state within the months September in this year.

“Initially we will appoint 10,000 contractual teachers on July 1 next and next 10,000 teachers to appoint within next three months,” Sarma said.

The Assam minister further said the state government has also decided to regular all TET passed contractual teachers within five years.

“This decision was taken during the cabinet meeting and regularizing process will start from this year,” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

On the other hand, Himanta Biswa Sarma, who also holding the convenor of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) said NEDA’s ally parties will support the president candidate of the NDA.

BJP president Amit Shah on Monday stunned the opposition by announcing Ram Nath Kovind as the NDA’s candidate for president.

“Before announcing the NDA’s candidate for president, Amit Shah had discussed with all ally parties including Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) before announcing the candidate for president,” the Assam minister said.

Himanta Biswa Sarma said in Assam BJP will seek support from the other opposition parties legislators, MP’s for Kovind.

Apart from Himanta Biswa Sarma, AGP leader and state water resources minister Keshab Mahanta, BPF leader Biswajit Daimary also said that, AGP and BPF had already extended their supports to BJP for president election.
