Kolkata, June 23 (IBNS) Leading bookstore Starmark, in association with Popular Prakashan, on Monday hosted the launch of Ananya Banerjee's latest book 'Planet Gastronomy: 100 Most Popular Global Recipes' at its outlet in Kolkata's Quest Mall.

West Bengal Consumer Affairs Minister Sadhan Pandey, Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee , KMC chairperson Mala Ray, food writers Rita Bhimani, Kishore Bhimani and actress June Maliah were present at the event.

Speaking on her book, Banerjee said: "For me traveling is equivalent to finding a new food and whenever I travel to a new destination, I try to taste the local cuisine of that place. Then, I recreate it in my home. So, I wanted to compile different recipes at one place and give a guidebook to people."

The Mayor said: "I feel that selecting 100 recipes is quite tough when we have so many varieties of dishes served across the globe. Ananya Banerjee has indeed done a fantastic job in selecting 100 out of them."

Pandey said he hopes to see the book being appreciated by readers.

The book is priced at Rs. 595.
