At least two people, including a five-year-old boy child, were injured after a shooting incident at Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in southwest Houston on Sunday, media reports said.

The suspect was reportedly killed.

Houston Police told ABC 13 that a woman in her early 30s entered the church on the west side armed with a long rifle wearing a trenchcoat and a backpack.

The woman was reportedly accompanied by a small child between four to five years old and opened fire immediately after entering the building.

Police said two off-duty officers engaged and fired at the woman, leaving her dead.

Authorities said the child was also hit and currently his condition is said to be critical.

Lakewood Church posted on X: "There is an active situation involving shots fired at Lakewood. Law enforcement is on the scene. That is all the information we have at this time. Please pray for Lakewood and our community."
