At least 10 people were killed in a stabbing rampage in Canada's central Saskatchewan province on Sunday, media reports said on Monday.

The incident left 15 people hurt.

"At this point in our investigation, we have located 10 deceased individuals and are investigating 13 locations in the communities of the James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon in Saskatchewan," Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said in a statement.

"Several additional victims have been injured, 15 of which at this point have been transported to various hospitals. There may be additional injured victims who transported themselves to the various hospitals," read the statement.

Police are looking out for two suspects.

The two suspects have been identified as Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson.

"Damien Sanderson is described as a 31-year-old male, 5 foot 7, 155 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Myles Sanderson is a 30-year-old male, 6 foot 1 and 240 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes,"the police said in a statement.

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau has condoled the loss of lives in the tragedy and tweeted: " The attacks in Saskatchewan today are horrific and heartbreaking. I’m thinking of those who have lost a loved one and of those who were injured."
