Toronto, Feb 5 (IBNS): Former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney's daughter Caroline has officially joined the leadership race of Ontario Progressive Conservative party and asserted that she is the only alternative to the present liberal government who can bring a change in the country.

Caroline, a mother of four children, took to Twitter to post a video where she has announced her decision to join the leadership race.

Venting out her anger against the liberal government, Caroline said: "People in Ontario had enough of this liberal government. They are looking for change."

"We need to build the kind of Ontario that strives to give all of our children the opportunities they deserve. To do that we need a government that actually cares about us. Their focus in on affordability, economic growth and opportunity.." she added.

Highlighting her qualities, Caroline said: "I am something different, forward looking and positive and something new."

Patrik Brown has resigned as Ontario Progressive Conservative leader after allegations of sexual misconduct were brought against him by two women, CTV News reported.

In a statement issued by Brown, he said he is resigning after consultations with family, friends and caucus members.

However, he denied all the allegations which were brought against him.

Ahead of the election in June, the Ontario Progressive Conservative party has fallen into a crisis after a series of resignations following Patrik Brown's exit from the party.

The latest resignation came from party President Rick Dykstra.
