Toronto, Jan 30 (IBNS): Quebec City Mayor Regis Labeaume has mourned the loss of lives in the shooting incident at a mosque on Sunday.

“We have the impression we are dreaming,” said Quebec City Mayor Regis Labeaume.

“Quebec City, this magnificent city, is in mourning. I have often said in recent weeks that, despite the peace we have here, we are not immune (to attacks). Well, this has just proven that,” Postmedia News reports quoting Regis Labeaume.

Quebec police said six people were killed in the incident.

Five people were in critical condition and at least 12 were in hospital with minor injuries.

Ages of the victims ranged from 35 to 60.

Thirty-nine people were in the mosque at the time of the attack.
