More than 100 Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) members recently vandalised a place of worship of the Ahmadiya community in Pakistan's Sialkot district.

The mob, led by one Ziharul, a local TLP leader, on August 18 forced the police and civil administration to reach the place and demolish the arch constructed in the building.

According to reports, this was the 18th attack on Ahmadiyas' place of worship in 2023.

A few days back, more than 20 churches, and 90 houses of Christian community members were burnt to ashes in Isa Nagar area of Jaranwala in Punjab’s Faislabad district over fake blasphemy allegations.

Majlis Ulema-e-Pakistan and Interfaith Council for Peace and Harmony organized a Condemnation Conference at Lahore Press Club on August 18 regarding the attacks on the Christian community’s Churches, houses and shops at Isa Nagar, Jaranwala area of Punjab’s Faislabad district over fake blasphemy allegations.

Speaking at the conference Maulana Sayed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad said that the incident deserves the harshest condemnation and demanded severe punishment for those involved.

He said that even if blasphemy is committed by any specific member of any particular community, there are laws which are required to be followed and no one is allowed to act violently.

He reminded Pakistan’s Muslim community that each member of the Pakistani minority community, including Hindu, Sikhs and Christian, stood together with Muslims in unanimously condemning the desecration of Quran recently in Sweden.
