Dharamshala: The women association of Tibet community hosted an event here recently to highlight Tibet’s environmental crisis due to the "Chinese government.”

The association organized the event to mark World Environment Day.

Activists The central Tibetan Women’s Association (TWA) on Sunday held a photo exhibition in McLeod Ganj to show the environmental crisis in Tibet due to the Chinese government, reports ANI.

Lhamo, joint Secretary of TWA highlighted the importance of nature and urged China to restrain from its action.

“We want China to restrain from what they are doing right now and we hope they will realize one day that whatever they are doing is not good for the earth, ” Lhamo, joint Secretary of TWA, told ANI.

She further said that the association raised global awareness every year on June 5 to positive environmental actions to protect the earth.

“We have organized a community awareness at Mcleod ganj square to raise significant awareness of the worsening state of Tibet’s environment so we are having a photo exhibition to demonstrate and create awareness about the destruction of Tibet’s environment,” she said.
