Chinese nationals leaving Pakistan after Karachi University blast

Karachi, Pakistan: A large number of Chinese nationals have started leaving Karachi city of Pakistan after a terrorist attack in Karachi University campus this week left three Chinese nationals dead.

A video has gone viral on social media showing a  large number of Chinese in PPE kits leaving from Karachi Airport.

A Pakistani national asad Malik tweeted: "As soon as the US sponsored imported regime came into power followed by a blast on Chinese. News is that over 2000 Chinese are leaving Pakistan." "It seems our enemies are succeeding in their mission," he wrote.

China has 'strongly condemned' on Wednesday over the suicide attack outside the University of Karachi's (KU) Confucius Institute which left four people, incuding three Chinese nationals, dead.

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying condemned and tweeted: "We strongly condemn the terrorist attack targeting Chinese teachers at University of Karachi and express our condolences to the victims. Nothing will undermine the China-Pakistan friendship."

The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the blast which occurred inside Pakistan's Karachi University which left four people, including three Chinese nationals, dead on Tuesday.

Video footage of the attack has also surfaced on social media.

The BLA claimed the suicide attack was carried out by a woman suicide bomber.

The militant group operates mainly in Balochistan province

The explosion occurred at 1:52 pm in a van near the Confucius Institute — a Chinese language teaching centre at Karachi University, Geo News reported.

Rescue and security agencies rushed to the spot after the blast.

The deceased Chinese nationals have been identified as the director of the Confucius Institute Huang Guiping, Ding Mupeng, Chen Sai, and their Pakistani driver, Khalid, reports Geo News.
