Hong Kong: Vegetable prices in Hong Kong are moving up and shelves at some supermarkets remained empty as retailers blamed transport disruptions at the mainland China border due to Covid-19.

Dozens of cross-border truck drivers carrying vegetables became stuck in Shenzhen after two of their colleagues reportedly tested positive at the crossing, a unionist said on Sunday, reports South China Morning Post.

In a statement, the city government confirmed that “some drivers” were required by the mainland authorities to undergo quarantine after they went to certain places without clearing it with officials, the newspaper reported.

Hong Kong reported 614 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, health authorities told Channel News Asia.
