Kabul: Head of provincial education department Mawlawi Ismail Abu Ahmad has said more than 30,000 students have been deprived of schooling due to political conflicts in the region where their schools are located.

Alchin is one such institution where once forces of the Taliban insurgents and former government engaged in fierce fighting.

The school is now under construction.

“With the reconstruction of this school, approximately 2,000 students will get access to education,” Abdul Hafiz, an official at the education department in, told the news agency.
