Pakistan: Punjab Health Minister tests COVID-19 positive
Islamabad: Pakistan's Punjab region Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid on Tuesday tested positive for COVID-19.
The health minister is isolating at home, the spokesperson said, adding that she got herself tested after her son tested positive upon his arrival in the United States, Geo News reported.
Meanwhile, Pakistan registered 898 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.
This is the highest figure registered since Oct 14 when 1,086 infections were detected.
The country's tally of cases has risen to 1,298,763 while the positivity rate has reached 1.8 per cent, Dawn News reported.
