Quetta: Police baton-charge protesting students
Quetta: Several students, who were participating in a protest rally against online entrance exams, were injured when police baton-charged to disperse them in Pakistan's Quetta region on Wednesday.
The police reportedly arrested 20 students.
Earlier, students of Quetta's Bolan Medical College took to the streets on Wednesday afternoon against the results of online entry exams, reports Samaa TV.
"Our tests scores this year are very low. This is all because the tests were taken online," a student told the news channel.
The protesting students claimed that attempts were made to prevent students from entering colleges and universities of their choice.
"The Pakistan Medical Commission can conduct the exams through any testing service. We have no issue. But we won't give the tests online," another student added.
All opposition parties in the Balochistan Assembly, including Balochistan National Party (Mengal), condemned the police action against protesting students, reports Samaa TV.
