Kabul: Unidentified gunmen killed eight members of a family while they were offering Tarawih prayers in Jalalabad city of Afghanistan, media reports said on Sunday.

Zia-ul-Haq Amarkhel, governor of Nangarhar province told the media as quoted by Khaama Press on Sunday that the incident took place on Saturday night, at around 9:00 pm local time in PD9 of Jalalabad city.

According to Amarkhel, the incident occurred at the residence of a man named Haji Abdul Wahab, whose five sons and three nephews were killed in the attack.

Amarkhel called the attack “enmity” and personal hostilities over land, and that efforts are underway to arrest the culprits.
