Quetta, July 25 (IBNS): At least 22 people were killed in a blast which took place in Quetta, the capital city of Balochistan in Pakistan, as the elections are underway in the country, media reports said.

Another 22 people are reportedly injured due to the blast.

The bomb blast seemed to have targeted the police officials, security officials told The Guardian.

Police said the death toll might reach up to 30.

Amid tight security, Pakistan is voting to elect a new national and several provincial assemblies on Wednesday.

The election will also decide who will be the next Prime Minister of the south Asian nation.

Pakistan's nearly 106 million registered voters are expected to vote on Wednesday.
