NZ nominates former PM Helen Clark for United Nations secretary-general

Hamilton, Apr 4 (IBNS): New Zealand government has nominated country's ex-Prime Minister Helen Clark for the position of United Nations secretary-general.

"The New Zealand Government is pleased to nominate Helen Clark @Helen4SG for the position of the UN Secretary-General," New Zealand PM John Key tweeted.

Clark was the  37th Prime Minister of New Zealand.

As Prime Minister she served three consecutive terms from 1999 to 2008 and was the first woman elected at a general election as the Prime Minister, and was the fifth longest serving person to hold that office.
