Tokyo/IBNS: A 6.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in the central Ishikawa region of Japan, as reported by the Japan Meteorological Agency.

Japan Railway announced the suspension of Shinkansen bullet trains between Nagano and Kanazawa, a famous tourist destination, due to the earthquake.

The quake, which occurred in Suzu city, Ishikawa, registered an upper six on the Japanese Shindo scale, which has a maximum of seven, which indicates that the earthquake could potentially trigger significant landslides in the affected area.

The magnitude of the earthquake, as reported by the US Geological Survey, was 6.2. Japan, located on the Pacific "Ring of Fire," an arc with high seismic activity spanning across Southeast Asia and the Pacific basin, frequently experiences earthquakes.
