IDF says another rocket fired from gaza as anger against Trump's deal mounts

Tel Aviv/Sputnik: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Saturday that another rocket had been fired from Gaza toward Israel amid the Arab world's mounting anger against the US' Middle East peace plan.

"Another rocket was just fired from #Gaza at #Israel. This is the 4th consecutive day that terrorists in #Gaza have launched rockets at Israeli civilians," the IDF tweeted.

The current escalation comes after US President Donald Trump unveiled on Tuesday his long-awaited peace plan for the Israeli-Palestinian settlement, triggering a backlash from Palestine.

The "deal of the century" envisions Israel's annexation of settlements in the West Bank and the Jordan Valley, with the Jewish state having Jerusalem as its "undivided capital." A demilitarized Palestinian state, in turn, is invited to use the adjacent village of Abu Dis as its capital.

Earlier on Saturday, Palestine announced that it was cutting ties with both the US and Israel over the proposed plan. The Arab League foreign ministers' extraordinary meeting similarly rejected the deal and urged the international community to counter any Israeli attempt to implement it.
