Tokyo, Sept 28 (IBNS): Over 30 people have lost their lives after a volcano erupted in central Japan on Saturday, reports said.
About 30 climbers were also found in critical condition on Sunday on Mt. Ontake, which erupted the previous day.
"The climbers were found when rescue operations resumed earlier in the day after fears of fresh eruptions and toxic gas prevented rescue efforts on Saturday," Japanese News Agency Kyodo reported.
Mount Ontake in central Japan erupted shortly before noon (Japanese local time) on Saturday, releasing large white plumes of gas and ash high into the sky.
