Choreographer Ganesh Acharya launched his dance academy on January 22 in Mumbai. A lot of biggies of Bollywood including veteran actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha and others had congratulated the choreographer for the same on AV. Tiger Shroff, donned in a black t-shirt with ‘Gada’ scribbled over it had also attended the launch.

BSP MLA celebrates Mayawati’s birthday with obscene dance numbers in Damoh

Damoh (Madhya Pradesh), Jan 16 (ANI): On the occasion of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati’s birthday, a MLA from her party held celebrations for the same in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh. Interestingly, the female MLA entertained the large audiences at the event with raunchy dance numbers. Dancers danced to popular tunes for the crowd amidst loud cheers. Sweets equivalent to the MLA’s weight were also distributed. She ended the celebrations by cutting cakes with her family. 

Six-month long ‘Australia Fest’ kicks off in India

New Delhi, Sep 19 (ANI): An ‘Australia Fest’ is being organised to celebrate Australian culture in India. The Australian High Commission held an unveiling programme in Delhi on Tuesday to introduce the six-month long cultural festival. Harinder Sidhu, Australian High Commissioner to India, speaking about the festival said, “Festival will cover over 75 events in 20 Indian cities till March 19. The cultural events in this festival will cover everything from traditional cultural events such as music and dance and literature right through to the source of things that bind people together food and wine, sports. There is something for everyone, bringing 2 countries and cultures together.”

Children learn skate dancing ahead of Independence Day

Surat (Gujarat), Aug 13 (ANI): Ahead of the Independence Day, students of Meena Dance Academy in Gujarat’s Surat are practicing skate dancing. Through skate dancing, they will express their feelings towards the nation. 150 students are in the age of 3-15 years and are practicing this for over a month. They have been rehearsing on various patriotic songs. A student said, “For 15th august we have prepared a special dance. We express our feelings through dance and we all are happy for this. We are going to perform well through skating.”  

Leh celebrates Annual festival of Tseskarmo monastery

Leh (Jammu & Kashmir) Jul 29 (ANI): The annual festival of Tseskarmo monastery was held with religious fervour and gaiety near Leh. Tseskarmo is a quiet place located about 100 kilometres from Leh. The place is ideal for meditation. The festival celebration also marks the 800+ commemoration of Lord Jigten Sumgon Mahaparinirvana. The head lama of Drikung Kagyu lineage, Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche was the chief guest on the occasion. Thousand of devotees, both locals and foreigners, thronged the monastery to celebrate the occasion. Monk in their best costumes performed ritual mask dance besides Yak dance, devotional song and folk song were also part of the celebration.

Transgender group dance on Rabindranath Tagore tunes to celebrate his birth anniversary

Kolkata (West Bengal), May 10 (ANI): A group of transgenders danced on the tunes of renowned Indian polymath and poet Rabindranath Tagore to celebrate his birth anniversary. The event was orgainsed by Women Empowerment Centre. The organizer, Aloknanda Roy said “We have to understand Tagore's vision and how he accepted everyone”. 

Madhuri Set To Make People Go Dance Deewane

Bollywood dancing diva Madhuri Dixit is all set to make comeback on the small screen again after Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. The actress will be seen judging a reality  show titled Dance Deewane. The show is directed by Shashank Khaitan.

Aging Korea: Elderly people find respite in daytime discos

Seoul (South Korea), Apr 17 (ANI): In daytime discos known as 'colatecs', South Korea's retirees are finding a space to relax, exercise and have fun after decades of hard work. Thousand of elderly people flock here to have a good time with their friends. 'Colatecs' sprang up in 1990s as no alcohol dance clubs for teenagers. Today, these clubs have become a favourite among elderly people who come here to enjoy good company and great exercise as well.
