Kolkata, Mar 12 (IBNS): Professor of Jadavpur University (JU) and social group- Akranto Amra- activist Ambikesh Mahapatra, who came under focus after he was arrested by the police in 2012 for allegedly forwarding a cartoon on Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, on Saturday announced to contest as an independent candidate in upcoming assembly elections from Behala East constituency in Kolkata.
