Indian Air Force chief backs Modi govt. on Rafale aircraft procurement

New Delhi: Indian Air Force (IAF) chief Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa has said that the procurement of the Rafale aircraft from France would strengthen the defence preparedness of India by augmenting the fleet of fighter aircraft, thus backing the Modi government on the deal which has been made a political issue by the opposition Congress.

New Delhi, Aug 29 (IBNS): In a direct attack to Rahul Gandhi, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday claimed that the BJP-led NDA government is procuring Rafale aircraft at a 20 percent lesser price than the bid of 2007 under the Congress-led UPA regime and slammed the Congress president for spreading falsehood on the defence deal.
