Rahul Gandhi travels in metro in Bangalore, clicks selfie

Bangalore, Apr 8 (IBNS); Campaigning in poll-bound Karnataka, Congress president Rahul Gandhi travelled in metro train in Bangalore on Sunday.

He also posed for a selfie inside the metro train.

The video of him posing to take a selfie was posted by the party on its Twitter handle.

It captioned the video as: "Congress President @RahulGandhi takes time out for a selfie during a ride on the #NammaMetro in Bengaluru. #BengaluruNammaHemme #JanaAashirwadaYatre."

He interacted with women,  corporation workers of the BBMP, or pourakarmikas, and representatives of the business community,a among others in Bangalore on Sunday.

During his busy schedule on Sunday, he also stopped a bookstore in the city to pick up some books as his party tweeted: "

Congress President @RahulGandhi takes a break during the hectic #JanaAashirwadaYatre campaign to pick up some books from a bookstore on Church Street. #BengaluruNammaHemme."

He is scheduled to address a gathering in the city later in the day.

Both BJP chief Amit Shah and Rahul have been visiting Karnataka frequently as the state is heading towards the poll in few weeks' time.

While the Congress is aiming to get re-elected to power for the second consecutive time, the BJP is trying to return to power after a gap of five years.

The poll contest has turned out to be a clash between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate B.S. Yeddyurappa.

The poll will be held on May 12 and the counting of votes will take place on 15th of the same month.
