Melbourne, Jan 22 (IBNS): Shocking his fans, Serbian Tennis star Novak Djokovic on Monday was knocked out form the ongoing Australian Open by South Korea’s Hyeon Chung here.

The Asian Tennis player defeated his tough opponent 7-6(4) 7-5 7-6(3).

With this defeat, Novak's  seventh Australian Open men’s singles title win came to an end.

The clash saw Novak receiving mid-match treatment to the elbow injury that had kept him away from the sport for six months until his return at Melbourne Park.

However, Novak suffered his second successive exit before the quarterfinals.

He was defeated by Denis Istomin a year ago in the second-round match.

After a well-fought match, the Asian player grabbed the first set after a battle of 68 minutes.

The second round too went past the hour mark.

Chung, the world No.58, is now going to face fellow Grand Slam quarterfinal debutant Tennys Sandgren for a place in the semifinals after the American stunned No.5 seed Dominic Thiem in another stunning match on the same day.
