Pakistani cricketer Imran Farhat retires from international cricket

Islamabad/New Delhi, Jan 28 (IBNS) Pakistani cricketer Imran Farhat announced his retirement from international cricket on Wednesday.

The left-handed opener made his decision known after obtaining a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Cricket Board for participating in the Masters Champions League, ESPN Cricinfo reported.

The 33 year old played his last international match for Pakistan in June 2013, though he was active in the domestic circuit scores ample runs.

His decision came after the PCB made it mandatory for players to retire from international cricket who wanted to take part in in MCL, though the governing body mentioned that players will be allowed to take part in domestic competitions.

Farhat, who debuted in 2001 for Pakistan, represented the nation in 40 Tests, 58 ODIs and 7T20I.
