Visakhapatnam/UNI: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) emerged victorious with a dominant 106-run win over Delhi Capitals (DC), setting a new record for the second-highest total in IPL history by scoring a staggering 272/7 in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.

Sunil Narine's blistering innings of 85 runs, played at an astonishing strike rate of 217 was the highlight of KKR's batting onslaught. His aggressive approach set the tone for KKR's innings, providing a strong foundation for their formidable total.

Alongside him, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, aged only 18, contributed significantly with a brisk half-century, scoring 25-ball 50. His partnership with Narine bolstered KKR's innings and kept the momentum going.

Even after the dismissals of Narine and Raghuvanshi, KKR's onslaught didn't cease. Andre Russell, renowned for his power-hitting abilities, continued the assault on the Delhi Capitals bowlers, amassing a quickfire 41 runs off just 19 balls.

Russell's aggressive cameo further propelled KKR towards their imposing total, leaving the DC bowlers struggling to contain the onslaught.

Rinku Singh's blistering cameo further solidified KKR's dominance throughout the innings.

Rinku's explosive knock of 26 runs off just eight balls added to the onslaught unleashed by KKR's batting lineup. His quickfire innings contributed crucial runs in the latter stages of the innings.

In response, Delhi Capitals faltered early in their chase, losing wickets within the powerplay and struggling at 33/4 by the 5.3-over mark.

Despite a resilient 93-run partnership between skipper Rishabh Pant (55 off 25 4x4s 5x6s) and Tristan Stubbs (54 off 32 4x4s 4x6s), Delhi couldn't sustain the momentum.

KKR capitalized on the situation, taking wickets at regular intervals and sealing a memorable victory, extending their unbeaten streak to two consecutive wins.

Australian pacer Mitchell Starc showcased his prowess with the ball, claiming two crucial wickets, including those of his compatriots Mitchell Marsh (0) and David Warner (18), and finishing his spell with figures of 2/25.

Additionally, Vaibhav Arora, who substituted for the injured Harshit Rana, made a significant impact by securing three wickets for KKR.
