Kolkata/IBNS: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) slammed 208/7 in 20 overs in their first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Kolkata started off poorly losing three wickets within the powerplay, but Phil Salt's 54 off 40, and Andre Russell's unbeaten 64 off 25 took the team to a safe total of 208 runs.

KKR batsmen Ramandeep Singh and Rinku Singh contributed 35 off 17 and 23 off 15 respectively.

However, KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer got out for a duck.

T Natarajan picked 3/32 in four overs for Hyderabad. Two wickets were scalped by Markande and another by skipper Pat Cummins.
