Mohammed Shami undergoes Achilles Tendon operation, PM Narendra Modi wishes him speedy recovery

Indian World Cup star and star pacer  Mohammed Shami recently underwent an operation on his Achilles Tendon.

The right-arm bowler shared his images where he could be seen on the hospital bed.

He wrote: "Just had a successful heel operation on my Achilles tendon! Recovery is going to take some time, but looking forward to getting back on my feet. #AchillesRecovery #HeelSurgery #RoadToRecovery."

Shami played a significant role in India's World Cup journey to the final last year.

Australia defeated the home side in the final to clinch the title.

PM Narendra Modi wishes him

Indian PM Narendra Modi wished Shami a speedy recovery.

He posted on X: "Wishing you a speedy recovery and good health, @MdShami11! I'm confident you'll overcome this injury with the courage that is so integral to you."

Shami thanked the PM for his personal message.

"It was such a wonderful surprise to receive a personal note from Prime Minister Narendra Modi sir wishing me a speedy recovery. His kindness and thoughtfulness truly mean a lot to me. Thank you so much Modi sir ,for your well wishes and support during this time," he said.

"I will continue to work hard towards my recovery,Thank you all for your continued wish ,love and support," he said.

Shami is missing the current Test series between India and England.

Shami's last outing in the Blue Jersey was the final match against Australia.

The Indian fast bowler emerged as the showpiece tournament's highest wicket-taker after he dismissed 24 batters in only 7 matches.
