Rohit Sharma steadies India after fall of early wickets against England in Rajkot

Rajkot/IBNS: India captain Rohit Sharma led from the front in the first session on day one of third Test against England after the home side lost early wickets here on Thursday.

India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal (10), Shubman Gill (0), Rajat Patidar (5) in quick succession after the play started.

Rohit (52), who is unbeaten after slamming a half century, steadied the ship with allrounder Ravindra Jadeja (24 not out) on the other side.

India, who had won the toss in the morning, scored 93/3 till lunch on day one.

Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel made their debut for India on Thursday.

Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj have returned to the side while Axar Patel and Mukesh Kumar missed out.

For England, Mark Wood returns to the playing XI.
