Cricket World Cup 2023: Is Shubman Gill playing India-Pak match? Rohit Sharma gives major update

Ahmedabad/IBNS: India's ailing batter Shubman Gill is most likely to be back in the playing squad for Saturday's India-Pakistan match in the Cricket World Cup 2023.

In an update, India captain Rohit Sharma on Friday said Gill is "99 percent available" for the match, which will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Gill, who opens the batting with Rohit, missed India's first two matches against Australia and Afghanistan respectively due to high fever over dengue.

India's young batter Ishan Kishan had joined the skipper in the opening slot in both the matches, which were won with dominance by the men in blue.

While KL Rahul and Virat Kohli anchored India's victory against Australia, skipper Rohit Sharma hit a ton to ensure the second win for men in blue.
