Dubai/IBNS: Silencing his critics, India's superstar batsman Virat Kohli slammed a fiery, unbeaten century to power India to post 212/2 in 20 overs against Afghanistan in their ultimate match of the Asia Cup 2022 here Thursday.

Extending his good Asia Cup touch post return from hiatus, Kohli this evening remained unbeaten at 122, his highest T20I score, off just 61 balls leaving the opponent stunned with the display of sheer classy batting.

Kohli hit 12 fours and six half-a-dozen shots with some of them being quite unusual coming from the former Indian skipper.

Dedicating his century to his actor wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika, Kohli, who slammed his first international century since 2019, remembered in post-inning interaction how he was supported by his family in his tough days, precisely in the last couple of years.

On the field Thursday, Kohli was aptly supported by today's captain KL Rahul, who scored 62 before getting out, and the duo contributed 119 runs for the first wicket.

After Afghanistan were defeated by Pakistan last night in a thriller, India exhausted all their chances to advance to the final, where Sri Lanka will take on Babar Azam's team Sunday.
