Steve Smith becomes fastest batsman to score 7000 runs in Test cricket

Adelaide/IBNS: Australian batsman Steve Smith became the fastest batsman to score 7000 runs in Test cricket on Saturday.

Smith achieved the feat in Australia's first Test against Pakistan underway here.

He took only 126 innings to go past 7000 runs in Tests.

Going past Australian great Don Bradman, Smith became the 11th player of his nation to reach 7000 Test runs.

Australia are in a strong position against Pakistan in the first innings of the first Test. Smith was dismissed at 36.
