Kolkata/IBNS: Tagore's songs coupled with Sanskrit hymns and subtle colours added to the perfect and aesthetic environment in the onscreen wedding of Ishaa Saha and Gourab Roy Chowdhury, who took seven vows for a music video, which was launched to mark the arrival of Bohurupi Santiniketan's new compilation, Saptapadi.

Contrary to the colours traditionally worn by the brides, Ishaa, as shown in the music video, was dressed in a white saree in tandem with the theme which is largely dominated by muted colours.

The 5:54-minute video begins with Sanskrit hymns slowly building up to Ishaa- in white saree and heavy jewellery- arriving in the scene with Rabindranath Tagore's song 'Moharajo Eki Saje' playing in the background to only meet her eyes with the ones of Gourab Roy Chowdhury, the groom.

Similar to the colour of Ishaa's bridal attire, Gourab appears in white traditional heightening the subtle environment.

"The collection is inspired by the Brahmo marriage in Santiniketan though not entirely identical," shares designer Abhisek Roy, who heads Bohurupi Santiniketan and has previously worked with a line of celebrities including Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan.

"Abhisek has done a fantastic job in launching the product in stunning and aesthetic ways," adds singer Iman Chakraborty, who too featured in the music video along with singer Durnibar Saha.

In a musical saga which comprises Tagore's 'Premero Joare Bhasabe' song, Ishaa and Gourab take seven vows as they head to their conjugal life.

The white floral surrounding, the chandeliers, the 'alpona' painted floors play as add-ons to the wedding musical video, which Abhisek says took a long time in planning but was shot in one day.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Ishaa revealed she wondered how an all-white dressed wedding would look like.

"Initially I wondered how the white colour would go with the bridal attires. But Roy was clear of shooting the wedding with a different taste. The entire collection is very different," says the actress, whose latest work Paashbalish, a web series, premiered a few days ago.

Gourab, a popular face on television, adds, "We all are friends so I really liked working for this video. It was lovely working with Bohurupi Santiniketan and of course Ishaa."

The music was composed by Rathijit Bhattacharjee.

Actress Swastika Mukherjee, who is among the top Tollywood celebrities with whom Abhisek recurrently works, gave thumbs up to the wedding musical launch.

In a banter with Abhisek at the event, Swastika says, "I had objected to showing young couples getting married, honestly (laughs). I asked him why couples aged over 40 can't be shown getting married! (laughs)."

The musical video is now streaming on Bohurupi Santiniketan's official Instagram page.
