Swastika Mukherjee, Paoli Dam, Debchandrima feature in Hoichoi's new line of shows

Kolkata/IBNS: Popular Bengali actresses Swastika Mukherjee and Paoli Dam featured in the new line of web shows announced by Bengali streaming service Hoichoi on Monday.

The new slate comprises 14 shows introducing 9 productions that traverse various genres from both India and Bangladesh.

The collection includes 4 existing franchises and 1 innovative addition under 'Best of Bengal'.

Swastika's 'Bijoya', Paoli's 'Gutipoka', Debchandrima-Gaurav Chakrabarty starrer 'Parineeta' and Solanki Roy's 'Bokabaksho Te Bondi' were among the shows that will be premiered in the bracket of April-September 2024.

Additionally, Kaushik Ganguly and Arjun Chakrabarty will appear in 'Abar Rajneeti'.

Among the sequels, Sandipta Sen will return with 'Noshtoneer 2' and Swastika Dutta will feature in 'Gobhir Joler Maach 2'.

'Adv. Achinta Aich': Joydeep Mukherjee's show stars Ritwick Chakraborty, Surangana Bandyopadhyay and Saswata Chatterjee. The story revolves around Dutta family when they discover their youngest son murdered by their disturbed daughter-in-law Malini in their
own home, they are determined to ensure she gets a life sentence in a mental institution.

Despite other lawyers turning down the case due to its apparent simplicity, Adv. Achintya Aich steps up. Known mainly for notarizing documents throughout his career, he sees an opportunity to delve into a challenging legal battle.

'Parineeta': Directed by Aditi Roy and starring Debchandrima Singha Roy and Gaurav Chakrabarty, it adds another captivating chapter to the playlist. This adaptation of literary tales in a modern setting is part of Hoichoi's 'Best of Bengal' series, which reimagines stories from the heart of Bengal, promising an engaging viewing experience.

'Bokabaksho Te Bondi': Under the direction of Debaloy Bhattacharya, 'Bokabaksho Te Bondi' presents an engaging plot line featuring Solanki Roy poised to captivate viewers with its distinctiveness. Opola, portrayed by Solanki Roy, is a late 20s actress yearning to break free from the confines of the spotlight.

However, her anticipated final day on set transforms into a harrowing ordeal as she unexpectedly confronts an identity crisis, struggling to discern where her scripted character ends and her authentic self begins.

'Bijoya': Helmed by Sayantan Ghoshal and starring Swastika Mukherjee, Saheb Chatterjee, and Debdutta Raha, promises an indelible cinematic journey. Bijoya, portrayed by Swastika Mukherjee, is a resilient yet guileless woman from a small town in Bengal who sends her son, Nilanjan, played by Debdutta Raha, to Kolkata for his higher education.

'Bohemian Ghora':  Under the direction of Amitabh Reza Chowdhury and featuring Mosharraf Karim, this production promises a charming blend of humour and chaos. Abbas, a truck driver known for his passionate affairs, finds himself in a predicament as his seven wives from seven different districts cause havoc in his life.

However, the situation takes a comedic turn when Abbas encounters trouble while attempting to embark on his eighth marriage.
Mosharraf Karim makes a triumphant return to hoichoi following the immense success of 'Mohanagar', 'Dour' and 'Mobaroknama' with 'Bohemian Ghora'.
