Jaya Ahsan, Ritwick Chakraborty starrer Bhootpori to release on February 9

Kolkata/IBNS: Jaya Ahsan and Ritwick Chakraborty starrer Bengali film 'Bhootpori' has got its release date.

On the occasion of New Year, the makers on Monday announced the film will hit the theatres on February 9.

Apart from Jaya and Ritwick, the film stars Shantilal Mukherjee, Sudipta Chakraborty and Bishantak Mukherjee in distinct roles.

Crux of the story

The tale of a woman who passes away and a little boy who meets the restless soul of the departed woman.

The woman seeks help from the little boy to unravel the mystery behind her death. Jaya Ahsan will portray the character of the ghost, and the child’s character will be portrayed by Bishantak Mukherjee.

"The film does not just remain limited to horror and ghosts. While unraveling the truth behind the woman's murder, the film touches upon the crime-thriller genre as well." said Jaya Ahsan.

Excited about the release, director Soukarya Ghosal said, "Bhooter Raja from Goopy Gayen Bagha Byne always fascinated me. I always wanted to make a film which deals with the friendly bond between ghosts and humans.

"Eventually discovers the fun and the dangers of it."

The musical score will be composed by the talented Nabarun Bose.
