Mumbai, Feb 13 (IBNS): Men may have been thinking about what they should gift their partners on this Valentine's Day but actor Akshay Kumar has a different suggestion for all the male lovers.

Akshay has reminded all men to not forget to buy all known women pads along with the the flowers, candies and chocolates.

In a tweet, Akshay said: "Don't forget to buy all the Women in your life Pads as well as Candies, Chocolates & Flowers this Valentines Day Celebrate Her. #Period."

He has even urged all to celebrate the periods of women.

Akshay's recently released film Pad Man is a story of Tamil Nadu-based social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham, who created a low-cost sanitary napkin making machine.

Muruganantham was inspired to create an inexpensive pad after seeing his wife use rags during her monthly cycle, just like 88 per cent of the females in India who do not have access to sanitary products.

Apart from Akshay, Pad Man features Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles.

The R. Balki directorial film has hit the big screens on February 9.

The film has been produced jointly by Akshay Kumar and his actor-turned writer, interior designer Twinkle Khanna.
