Adnan Sami to make acting debut with Afghan

Mumbai, Jun 29 (IBNS): Singer and music composer Adnan Sami will make his acting debut with Afghan.

The movie is about an Afghani musician and explores the Indo-Afghani relations.

Speaking about his Afghani roots, the singer and music composer turned actor was quoted in the media as saying, "We belong to the royal family of King Amanullah and still have palaces in Herat, Afghanistan. My great grandfather conquered Kafirastan and renamed it Nuristan. My grandfather was a provincial governor. After my father’s death, I’m the family patriarch now. I’ve never spoken about that part of my life because I didn’t want my family to open any doors for me but carve a niche on my own. Since I took a path no one had tread, they didn’t know which doors to open anyway,"

Afghan is directed by duo Radika Rao and Vinay Sapru.

Releasing the poster of the film on Twitter, Adnan tweeted, "Super excited to begin my new journey with #AfghanTheFilm! Here's the Official Poster for the film @SapruAndRao @AfghanTheFilm."
