Udta Punjab has not been banned: Anurag Kashyap

Mumbai, May 28 (IBNS) Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap on Saturday confirmed that upcoming film 'Udta Punjab' has not been banned.

The  film is based on the drug abuse problem faced by Punjab.

Amid reports that the movie has been banned by censor board, the filmmaker tweeted: "For the record ,'Udta Punjab' is not banned. The examining committe has deferred the decision to Revising and due process is on."

"And due process takes it own time so please abstain for spreading a BAN rumour. There is nothing to speak on the subject as of now," he said.

Udta Punjab is an upcoming Indian drama film written and directed by Abhishek Chaubey.

Produced byShobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor under their banner Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Phantom Films, it features Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.
