Farhan Akhtar, Adhuna headed for splitsville

Mumbai, Jan 21 (IBNS): Bollywood's director-actor Farhan Akhtar and his hair-stylist wife Adhuna Akhtar, have split after 15 years of marriage, according to reports.

The industry was already abuzz with the rumour of the split, which was further fanned by the absence of Adhuna at the release of Wazir, Farhan's latest film.

Reportedly, the couple has said the split is a result of 'growing apart over the years'.

According to some reports, Farhan is said to have moved out of his Bandra house to sister Zoya Akhtar's bungalow and is looking for an apartment.

The couple have two daughters, Shakya and Akira.

The media statement issued by them says, "This is to announce that we, Adhuna and Farhan, have mutually and amicably decided to separate. Our children remain our priority and it is immensely important to us, as responsible parents, that they be protected from unwarranted speculation and public glare. We sincerely request that we are given the privacy that is required at this time to move forward in a dignified manner."
