Mumbai, Aug 6 (IBNS) Actress Veena Malik and her husband Asad Bashir Khan Khattak were the first ones to find out about Geeta, the Indian Girl, in Pakistan. Recently, the issue became a nation wide sensation after it was compared to Salman Khan's recently released movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan

After their appeal to the Indian government, they even met Bollywood star Salman Khan, at the recently concluded AIBA Awards, to step up and help the stranded girl.

According to the sources, Veena Malik and Asad Khattak met Geeta during their visit to Edhi home and met Geeta where they promised to highlight the deplorable situation and help her reach her home in india. After meeting Salman, they discussed the matter and explained the plight the girl. The actor to agreed to raise the issue.

Geeta has her own mandir at the shelter she currently resides in Karachi. An activist tweeted that she is also a vegetarian and also fasts in the Muslim holy month of Ramazan.
