'Jawan': Shah Rukh Khan's film sells 6 lakh tickets in advance booking, say reports

Mumbai/IBNS: After making his comeback with 'Pathaan' early this year, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is all set to mesmerise his audience with his second release of the year 'Jawan', an action-packed film by director Atlee.

Despite no extensive countrywide promotions, Shah Rukh's upcoming film has already created ripples on social media, thanks to the trailer and the songs.

The ripple effect is quite evident on the ground as the ticket sales skyrocketed in advance booking even with two days left before the September 7 release.

As per reports, six lakh tickets have already been sold out since the advance booking started seven days prior to film release.

Going by this trend, 'Jawan' eyes to shatter the record of 'Gadar 2' in the opening collection.

Alongside SRK, the film stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles.

SRK, who plays a former soldier in the film, is seen in the trailer hijacking a metro while Vijay's never-seen-before avatar is explored.

Besides a few romantic sequences between SRK and Nayanthara, the viewers can't miss superstar Deepika Padukone- who plays a cameo- in the trailer.

'Jawan', which is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

The film will have a theatrical release on September 7.
