Mumbai, May 7 (IBNS): A day after Salman Khan was sentenced to a five-year jail term in a hit-and-run case, several celebrities visited the Bollywood superstar's residence here on Thursday.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, filmmaker Karan Johar and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray visited Khan's residence, reports said.

His fans were also seen gathering near Khan's residence since morning.

The Bombay High Court will hear his bail application on Friday.

In a major setback to Khan, who is known for delivering super hits at the box office every year, a Mumbai sessions court on Wednesday convicted and sentenced him to five years in jail in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case in which a pedestrian was crushed under the wheels of the SUV the actor was driving.

All charges against him were proved in the court.

He received a temporary relief later in the day as the Bombay High Court  granted him two days interim bail.
