Sonam Kapoor Ahuja goes off Twitter, says its negative

Mumbai, Oct 6 (IBNS): Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor Ahuja has announced that she will be taking a hiatus from Twitter, citing negativity around the microblogging site.

"I’m going off twitter for a while. It’s just too negative. Peace and love to all !" the Neerja actress tweeted.

Last month, ace Indian tennis player Sania Mirza too did a similar thing, ahead of a high profile clash in cricket between India and Pakistan at the Asia Cup in UAE.

Mirza, who is expecting her first child with cricketer husband Shoaib Malik, had tweeted, "Soo less than 24hrs to go for this match, safe to sign out of social media for a few days since the amount of nonsense thts gonna b said here can make a ‘regular’ person sick ,let alone a pregnant oneLater guys!Knock yourselves out!BUT remember-ITS ONLY A CRICKET MATCH! Toodles!"

Pakistan ended up losing the match against India, the eventual competition winner.

Cricket matches between two neighbouring nations can get the fans pumped up, to an extent that at times it breaches the limit of decency.

Twitter in particular is a favourite among people who uses the platform to spread vitriol and direct mean tweets towards fellow users, mostly celebrities, who they don't like.
