West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee unfurled the tricolour on Red Road (Indira Gandhi Sarani) in Kolkata on Friday (Aug 15, 20140 to celebrate the Independence Day. She received a guard of honour from the Kolkata police.The Chief Minister's Police Medal for Outstanding Service were given away during the day to Kolkata Police Commissioner Surojit Kar Purokayastha, Bidhannagar Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar and IGP Western Zone Siddhi Nath Gupta. Short story collections released in Kolkata
Kolkata, Aug 3 (IBNS): Short stories have been considered both an apprenticeship form preceding more lengthy works, and a crafted form in its own right. Believing this ideology, singer, performer and lyricist Surojit Chatterjee and Patrabharati Publishers jointly launched ‘Alpo Kathay Goppo’ a collection of 60 short stories Sunday in the presence of novelist Sanjib Chattopadhyay and poet Krishna Basu at Niranjan Sadan.
