S Jaishankar, Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba discuss Russia-Ukraine conflict

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba on Friday held bilateral talks here and discussed the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict and its wider ramifications.

"An open and wide-ranging conversation with Ukraine FM@DmytroKuleba this afternoon. Our discussions focused on the ongoing conflict and its wider ramifications. Exchanged views on various initiatives in that context", S Jaishankar wrote on X.

"Spoke as well on global and regional issues of interest to both of us. Reiterated our commitment to strengthen the overall relationship, including bilateral cooperation", he added.

In his initial remarks, the Minister said, For a month, we've had interactions at various levels. I'm glad to see that some of our bilateral mechanisms have also met".

"Your visit gives us an opportunity obviously, to understand the situation in your region and I look forward to hearing your perspectives on that" the Minister said.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister arrived in India on March 28 on a two-day visit.

During his visit, Foreign Minister Kuleba will have a number of engagements, including with Deputy NSA to discuss matters pertaining to the bilateral partnership and cooperation on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

He is also expected to interact with the business community.
