In a suspected case of honour killing, a man hacked his 20-year-old daughter and a youth to death allegedly over an affair in the Bilsi area of Badaun district in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

Police sources said the girl Neetu had an affair with Sachin (20) for the last two years, to which her family had objections.

"On Monday night, Sachin came to meet the girl. Around 4:30, the girl's family members woke after hearing the noise and attacked the couple," they said.

Police sources said Neetu's family members thrashed her and Sachin brutally.

"During this, the girl's father, Mahesh, attacked them with a spade and hacked them to death. After this, Mahesh reached the police station with the spade and surrendered before the police," they said.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Dr OP Singh, said the girl was having an affair with the youth. "The girl's father and other family members caught the couple while they were meeting and were hacked to death," he said.

He said the girl's father surrendered to the police with the murder weapon.

"A complaint has been given by the youth's family members on which a case is being lodged. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination," he said.
