Uttar Pradesh: Girl raped in moving car, commits suicide

Meerut: A girl committed suicide after being raped in a moving car and was threatened that her video would be made viral in Lawar area of Meerut district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Wednesday.

Police sources told UNI that the victim was being molested by a youth named Manu for a long time.

"The father of the victim has alleged that on August 2 his daughter was kidnapped by Manu and his accomplice Sandeep and was raped in the moving car," they said.

Police sources said that the accused threatened to make the video of the victim viral.

The accused fled after leaving her in front of the house.

"The victim informed her mother about the incident on Tuesday after which she consumed some poisonous substance and committed suicide," they said.

Police sources said that the victim's father told the police that the accused had kidnapped and raped his daughter several times in the past.

"The father said that after this he sent the girl to his brother in Delhi and there got her admitted in BA first year. She was kidnapped and raped again on August 2 when the girl had come to Lawar from Delhi to collect her transfer certificate (TC) when she was abducted and raped again," they said.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Devesh Kumar said that the body has been cremated after postmortem. A police team has been constituted to nab the accused, he said.
