New Delhi/IBNS: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her flatmate after a fight broke out between them at a party in north Delhi, police said on Tuesday.

The bloodied body of Rani was found on the terrace of a house in Majnu Ka Tilla this morning, said Sagar Kalsi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), North District.

Rani, who worked at a beauty parlour in Gurugram lived with Sapna in a rented house in the area, police said.

Sapna, 36, had abused her father under the influence of liquor at a party last night which led to a fight between the two women. At least six others were present at the party, police said.

The incident triggered another fight between the two women early this morning, police said.

Sapna, a divorcee who has a daughter, used a kitchen knife to stab her multiple times around 4:30 am. Rani died on the spot, police said.

The accused, who used to work as a waiter at weddings, confessed her crime during the interrogation, said the cops.

Police said they have lodged a murder case and further investigation is on.
