Siddaramaiah, DK Shivakumar meet Rahul, Priyanka; invite them for swearing-in ceremony

New Delhi/IBNS: Karnataka CM-designate Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM-designate DK Shivakumar met Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra here on Friday.

Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar met both the party leaders and invited them to attend the swearing-in ceremony scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on Saturday, media reports said here.

"We want to invite all our senior leaders for tomorrow's swearing-in ceremony. So, we have come here to meet and invite them," Shivakumar told reporters here.

Referring to the five guarantees as promised by the Congress party during the Assembly polls, the Dy CM-designate said, "We have to deliver. In the first Cabinet, we will implement it."

Earlier, senior party leader KC Venugopal informed that along with the CM, Deputy CM, a group of ministers will also take oath on Saturday.

In the recently concluded Karnataka polls, the Congress won 135 Assembly seats out of 224 constituencies.
