The 10th flight carrying Indian nationals, who were stranded in Sudan, has been evacuated from Jeddah, officials said.

In this flight,  231 passengers are en route to Ahmedabad, a top Indian government official said.

"10th outbound flight carrying Indian evacuees from Jeddah. 231 passengers are en route to Ahmedabad," tweeted MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi.

The evacuations are taking place under the Indian government's Operation Kaveri initiative.

Sudan is currently witnessing a crisis as fighting erupted between soldiers loyal to Sudanese army leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his deputy, paramilitary Rapid Support Soldiers (RSF) commander Mohamed Hamdan Daglo.
